Health science students show off skills
HOSA-Future Health Professionals students will attend the 2nd Annual Delaware HOSA Leadership Conference over the next two weeks. HOSA students from health science programs throughout the state will compete in events at the Delaware State Fire School on March 19, 20, 26 and 27 and at Delaware State University’s Price Building on March 21 and 28.
The clinical skills competitive events (dental science, physical therapy, nurse assisting, medical assisting, biotechnology and clinical nursing) will be held at DSU, where the Price Building houses nursing labs with beds, manikins, an exam table and a nurse station. This is an ideal setting for students to showcase what they have learned in their health science pathways. The DSU nursing instructors and nursing students will be assisting with judging and acting as patients.
Also, the Bureau of Oral Health and Dental Services will be using the mobile dental van behind the DSU Price Building to hold the dental science event.
Students who excel at this state conference will have the opportunity to attend the HOSA National Leadership Conference (NLC) in Nashville in June.
Media is welcome to cover the events. Please RSVP to public information officer Alison Kepner at akepner@doe.k12.de.us to set up a time to visit.
