What: Announcement of five Delaware public schools that will receive $150,000 awards under the state's Academic Achievement Awards program

Details: These awards, created by legislation passed by the DE General Assembly in 2009, give five schools each year $150,000 for significantly closing the achievement gap and/or exceeding their adequate yearly progress for two or more consecutive years. The winning schools have a large amount of discretion in deciding how to spend the money.
Tomorrow at 1:30 p.m., Lieutenant Governor Denn and Former Secretary Lowery will reveal the names of the five winning schools, and representatives from the schools will also be present. Some winners from last year's award will also be present and Lt. Governor Denn will be sharing their success stories.
