National Superintendent of the Year to Speak in Dover
(Dover, DE.) - Dr. Beverly Hall, Superintendent of Atlantic Public Schools, was selected National Superintendent of the Year in 2009 by the American Association for School Administrators. On Wednesday, November 18, Dr. Hall will address Delaware’s school leaders, policy makers, university faculty, and students.
The event is open to the public and will kick-off at 5:00 p.m. with a meet-and-greet session located at The Outlook in the Duncan Center in Dover, DE. After the reception, dinner will be served at 5:30 PM, followed by a keynote address by Dr. Beverly Hall on the topic of “Leading Urban Schools”.
This event is sponsored by the Delaware Academy for School Leadership at the University of Delaware in collaboration with the Delaware Department of Education. Funding for the event has been provided by the Wallace Foundation.
Dr. Hall was appointed superintendent of Atlanta Public Schools in 1999, and in her ten years as the leader of the district she has transformed it into a world-class school system. She will meet with Delaware’s district superintendents prior to the reception to answer specific questions related to the work she has done in improving schools in Atlanta.
