Philadelphia Boys Choir and Chorale to Perform at Lake Forest High School

Release Date: Apr 24, 2009 11:41 AM

(Dover, DE.)  The Philadelphia Boys Choir & Chorale (PBCC) has accepted an invitation to perform at the Lake Forest High School auditorium in Felton on Friday, May 1st beginning at 7:00 p.m.

Renowned for their commanding musicianship, intelligence and interpretive abilities, Philadelphia Boys Choir & Chorale has cultivated a devoted following worldwide for their highly acclaimed concerts and recitals.  Founded in 1968, its achievements include world tours with performances for heads of state, recordings with internationally renowned orchestras and praise from critics and audiences worldwide.  PBCC continues to break through the most rigid social, political, and cultural barriers as “America’s Ambassador of Song.”

Mark Teesdale, General Music and Chorus Teacher for Lake Forest Central Elementary School in Felton and current State Teacher of the Year said he is elated the PBCC are available to perform.  “This free concert for the community could not have been done without an incredible donation from one person who holds the arts near and dear to her heart,” said Teesdale.  “I felt that through her generosity, we could bring in the PBCC and share their talent with our entire community.  To be able to hear a chorus of this caliber right here in our own backyard is an evening most will not forget.”

Nearly half of the 1000 tickets have already been reserved by students, staff and community members.  Teesdale said that in order to get tickets, just send an email to him at mdteesdale@lf.k12.de.us.  He will then put the requested number of tickets in an envelope which can then be picked up the evening of the performance.  Tickets are on a first come, first serve basis.
