Gov. Minner’s State of the State Address
to be Broadcast Live on TV, Radio and the Web
(Dover, De.) Delaware residents will once again be able to see and hear Governor Ruth Ann Minner’s State of the State address to the General Assembly Thursday live on television, radio, and the Internet. The State of the State address is scheduled to take place Thursday, Jan. 17 at 2 p.m. in the House chamber of Legislative Hall in Dover.
Seating at Legislative Hall is extremely limited, but Delawareans at home can watch the address live on WHYY TV-12. TV-12 will pre-empt regular programming from 2 p.m. until the Governor’s speech is completed. The station will re-broadcast an edited version of the address during its 5:30 p.m. regular news program “Delaware Tonight.”
In addition, WILM News Radio 1450 AM, WDOV 1410 AM, and WDEL 1150 AM will broadcast the address live from Dover.
Delawareans can also view a webcast of the address live via the State of Delaware web portal, delaware.gov. This marks the eighth year that the State of the State address has been webcast live from Dover.
In order to view the webcast, users will need to have a supported version of the Quicktime media player installed on their computer. To download the free required software, users are encouraged to go to the Delaware.gov web portal and read through the State of the State webcast instructions in advance of the event. By reviewing this information early, users will be better prepared and able to experience the highest quality webcast possible. Users will not be able to view the webcast with any other media player.
