DCAS Postponed
DELAWARE COMPREHENSIVE ASSESSMENT SYSTEM (DCAS)
PUT ON HOLD DUE TO FINANCIAL CONSTRAINTS
(Dover, De.) The Department of Education has announced that due to serious state budget constraints, the new Delaware Comprehensive Assessment System (DCAS) which would have replaced the Delaware Student Testing Program (DSTP) has been put on hold. The contract with Harcourt Educational Measurement will be extended through the 2010 testing cycle.
“Although I am disappointed in this turn of events, I fully understand the need to delay developing a new statewide assessment system,” said Secretary of Education Valerie A. Woodruff.
All vendors who submitted bids have been notified.
