State Honors Schools, Teachers, Administrators and Parents

at Annual School Improvement Awards Banquet 

Dover, Del.–May 15, 2006

Delaware public schools, students and parents were recently honored at the annual School Improvement Awards Banquet held at the Modern Maturity Center in Dover.

Associate Secretary of Education Martha Brooks, Ed.D., education officials and distinguished guests were on hand to recognize schools, teachers, students and parents for superior achievementand for establishing systems and processes that have made a major impact on school improvement.

The awards presented were:Title I Distinguished Schools;Blue Ribbon Schools;State of Delaware Family School Partnership Award;Distinguished Advanced Placement Incentive Program awards for students;and parent awards for outstanding service to education.

Award recipients were:
  • National Title I Distinguished Schools:
    Booker T. Washington Elementary School
    Fairview Elementary School
  • State Title I Distinguished Schools:
    Frankford Elementary School
    Lulu Ross Elementary School
    North Georgetown Elementary School
  • State Blue Ribbon Schools:
    Fairview Elementary School
    Lake Forest East Elementary School
    North Georgetown Elementary School
  • State of Delaware Family School Partnership Award:
    J. Ralph McIlvaine Early Childhood Center, Caesar Rodney School District
    Campus Community Charter School
    Positive Outcomes Charter School
  • Chapter 1 William “Hicks” Anderson Award for Dedication to Family School Partnership:
    The “Hicks” Anderson Award will be announced at a later date.
  • Advanced Placement Incentive Program Distinguished Senior Students:
