“March for the Arts in Education” on Tuesday
Students Statewide to Perform at Legislative Hall
Dover, Del.–April 7, 2006The third annual “March for the Arts in Education” celebration will be held onTuesday, April 11th and Thursday, April 13th at Legislative Hall in Dover.Students and teachers throughout the State will gather on Tuesday on the Green across from Legislative Hallfor a celebration of dance, music, theater and visual arts in our public schools.

| 1:30 p.m. | Sussex County Honors Band –under the direction of Ben Ables |
| 2:10 p.m. | Woodbridge High School “Steel Raiders” steel drum band –under the direction of Bob Lewis |
| 2:50 p.m. | Campus Community Charter School Civil War Singers –under the direction of Jennifer Boland and Diane Neusling |
| April 11th | Cab Calloway School for the Arts Jazz Band –House Chamber under the direction of Bob Emmons |
| April 11th | Mariner Middle School –Senate Chamber under the direction of Ellsworth Tolliver |
| April 13th | Brandywine School District Dancers –House Chambers under the direction of Erica Brown |
| April 13th | Southern Delaware School for the Arts Dancers –Senate Chambers under the direction of Kate Walker |
“March for the Arts in Education” is an annual event celebrated as a result of legislation sponsored in 2003by Senator Dori A. Connor (12th Senatorial District) and Representative Bethany Hall-Long (8th Representative District).The celebration is a collaboration with the Delaware Department of Education,the Delaware Music Educators Association and the Art Educators of Delaware.
