Correction to "Superior" School Ratings
Dover, Del.–August 12, 2003Yesterday, the Department of Education released school and school district accountability ratings for 171 public schools throughout Delaware.A total of 61 schools were rated “Superior” and 12 schools were rated “Commendable.”
Due to a computer program error, the Department has discovered that the Newark Charter School should have been rated “Superior” rather than “Commendable.”Therefore, this brings the number of “Superior” schools to 62 and the number of “Commendable” schools to 11.
No other schools have been affected by the computer error. Newark Charter School officials have been notified of the rating change.
