DESS Technical Assistance services are timely, specialized guidance, and customized support that help districts and schools, including charter schools, solve specific problems and increase their capacity to improve student learning. Technical assistance can be short-term, such as a phone call or email exchange, or longer in duration, such as helping a school or district develop and implement an improvement plan.
Examples of DESS Technical Assistance services include
- support for school or district improvement planning,
- help desk functions,
- program management inquiries,
- fulfilling requests for information,
- developing customized data reports, and
- Comprehensive Success Review.
Technical Assistance may be initiated by a district or by the DOE.
What isn't Technical Assistance?
Technical Assistance is not professional development or DOE execution of school or district responsibilities. Technical Assistance may result from monitoring but it is designed to support school and district efforts to improve student learning.
